Omaha Methodist Hospital was interested in providing a satellite clinic to serve the south Omaha area. The clinic was to have space for 3 general practice doctors and 3 specialists. This 7,000 sq. ft. combination clinic was designed to be open and inviting to the public and reflect the surrounding architecture of new structures that were being provided along the rejuvenated “L” Street, where the previous stockyards had been removed. The clinic was designed so that a common reception area could be used between the family practice doctors and the specialists for conservation of staff. All mechanical equipment was installed in a partial basement, which also served as a storm shelter.
